The One with the Sephora Favourites Soko to Tokyo Set

Guess who’s back, who’s back again with another Sephora Favourites set unboxing! I’m so happy I got my hands on this Soko to Tokyo set because the last version they released awhile back sold out before I was able to buy it.

I set up email reminders as soon as I saw this on the Sephora website and bought it as soon as I got the in stock email! It actually sold out shortly after I bought it. It did come back in stock briefly but it’s gone once again. So if you really want it, I suggest setting up the email reminders and checking back on your own accord as much as possible! Hopefully it will be restocked yet again.

Sephora Favourites Soko to Tokyo

As usual with these Sephora sets, I love to break down the values of them and also share my thoughts on the products included! So let’s unbox this set together! All values are in Canadian dollars!

Sephora Favorites Soko to Tokyo

Cost: $45
Value: $120
Includes: 9 items

Note: This set contains all products from South Korea and Japan!

Too Cool For School Hydration Egg Cream Mask

Too Cool For School Hydration Egg Cream Mask

As a sheet mask fan, I’m thrilled that this was included in the set! I’ve always wanted to try this brand and now I finally get to! This mask is for hydrating the skin with coconut and egg yolk extracts. It’s the only mask I’ve heard of to have egg yolks as an ingredient!

$8 is a lot for an individual sheet mask but it’s one of the cheaper ones on the Sephora website. I definitely have high hopes for it! This is a Korean brand!

Retail Value: $8 (full size)

Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream + Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Intensive Eye Contour Cream

Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream

This is one of those products that I have seen a million times yet somehow still have no idea what it is or what it does! Upon further research, I learned that it’s a cream that calms and soothes skin sensitivity and irritation. I was also interested to read that this cream helps with blemishes!

It seems to be all about making your skin stronger! I’m excited to try this! This brand is from Korea!

Retail Value: $6 for 5 ml (full size is $60 for 50 ml)

Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Intensive Eye Contour Cream

I loooove that they included some anti aging eye cream in this set! I find that they don’t include them that often. I’ve talked about it before but I have fine lines under my eye. They’ll never truly go away but ever since starting eye creams, the difference has been phenomenal. So please, Sephora, I’ll take alllll the eye creams!

This Shiseido eye cream targets the five types of eye area wrinkles which are crow’s feet, corner creases, under-eye wrinkles, lid creases, and vertical lines. I cannot wait to give this a go! Shiseido is a Japanese brand!

Retail Value: $23.33 for 5 ml (full size is $70 for 15 ml)

Tatcha Polished Classic Rice Enzyme Powder

This is a brand that I am so excited to try more of! I just tried a sample of their Violet Radiance Mask and it was so nice! This is a powder cleanser which would have been a foreign concept to me had I not received a powder cleanser from Hanalei in my September Ipsy bag! I really liked it so I’m hoping to like this one as well.

For those curious how a powder cleanser works, you put a small amount of powder in your hand, add water, massage hands together and apply to face when it’s foamy enough! This is a Japanese brand and this size is sold as a mini on the Sephora website!

Retail Value: $19 for 10 g (travel size)

Boscia Sake Cleansing Water No-Rinse Makeup Remover and Cleanser

This product looks really cool. It’s a no-rinse cleanser and makeup remover that is also supposed to provide other skin benefits such as hydrating and brightening the skin. Because it’s no-rinse, it would be perfect for travelling and on the go!

It’s much milkier looking than most cleansing waters and has a unique dispenser. This brand is from Japan!

Retail Value: $13.33 for 50 ml (full size is $40 for 150 ml)

Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream + Water Sleeping Mask

Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream

I love that this cream comes in a mini acrylic pot that mimics the full size version. The Water Sleeping Mask just comes in a basic plastic pot so I was expecting the same of the cream!

This cream made such a good impression on me when I first tried a sample last year. It’s a richer consistency yet lightweight enough that it didn’t feel like it was clogging my pores. I really enjoyed using this during the Winter when I need more hydration.

Retail Value: $8.40 for 10 ml (full size is $42 for 50 ml)

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask

I just bought a full size of this – that’s how much I love it! I may actually return it because Sephora just released a set that has the full size plus deluxe samples of the Essence and Moisture Cream for only $6 more. The full size is so reasonably priced, too.

Anyway, this is the perfect boost of hydration for my skincare routine! Especially if I am having breakouts and I need to use a lot of acne products instead of hydrating ones, this is a great final step. Laneige is a Korean brand!

Retail Value: $6.43 for 15 ml (full size is $30 for 70 ml)

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence

First of all, I have no idea how you are supposed to pronounce this brand’s name so if you could let me know, that would be grrreeaat (any Office Space fans?!). Secondly, the inclusion of this product almost covers the cost of the entire set. Yes, you heard me right!!

I was so mad when they released the Power of the Petal set earlier this year and they had this product in the picture and description but when the set showed up in the mail, the essence was missing. It turned out it wasn’t supposed to be included in the Canadian version and they made a mistake on the website. I definitely expected the same thing to happen here and was soooo happy I actually got it.

This is definitely one of those products where I just have to see what all the fuss is about. It’s supposed to hydrate, brighten and it contains anti-aging properties. It’s a Japanese brand!

Retail Value: $42.19 for 30 ml (full size is $225 for 160 ml)

AmorePacific Moisture Bound Skin Energy Hydration Delivery System

This is a face mist that is supposed to be intensely hydrating! It can be used over or under makeup and also helps skin absorb product more effectively. It also protects against environmental aggressors, gives a boost of radiance and also has long term anti aging benefits.

I love facial mists! I don’t know if they are really a necessary part of my skincare routine or not and I feel a little extra using them but I guess I will just do whatever I can to take extra care of my skin!! This is a Korean brand!

Retail Value: $15.75 for 30 ml (full size is $42 for 80 ml)

Total Retail Value: $142.43

Sephora Favorites Soko to Tokyo

Final Thoughts? I calculated $22 over Sephora’s estimated value. This is an unbelievable deal! If I was thinking straight, I would have bought 2! I’m a little obsessed with skincare and this set has such great products that I know I will use. It would actually be worth it to buy multiples of this set for that SK-II Essence and treat all the other products as free bonuses!

When I placed this order, I was not yet VIB Rouge (but I am now, uh oh) so I had to add a few more dollars to my cart to get that free shipping.

Sephora Coconut Water Micellar Cleansing Milk

This has been on my loves list for awhile. I really enjoy using micellar water to remove makeup plus I love the smell of coconut so of course I wanted to try this! I noticed it was on sale for $6! Perfect little product to make up those extra few dollars for free shipping!

And of course, free samples! I chose the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Eye Cream, Sunday Riley C.E.O. C + E Antioxidant Protect + Repair Moisturizer, and Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm. You can never have too much anti aging skincare!

img_9418

I also used the code LOWKEY to get this deluxe sample of the IGK Low Key Cleansing Walnut Scalp Scrub. I don’t normally go for many hair product samples but at the time of ordering, this was one of the select few available to me. With that said, it actually sounds really awesome. I wasn’t sure what it was at the time, but I learned that it uses apple cider vinegar to clarify the scalp and walnut oil to hydrate and nourish the hair! You’re supposed to use it to soothe and condition the scalp and hair if you’ve overindulged in styling, heat or colour!

And that’s all! Thanks so much for reading and I hope my post provided you with some good information on this set! Let me know if you have tried any of the products here or if you purchased this set also! Take care!

  1. Now this is a box I would happily purchase 😍 Anything K-beauty related gets me excited! So nice to see some Tatcha and SK|| in there ☺️ I’ve tried a sample of that Laneige product, and really enjoyed it

    1. Yes exactly! I knew I wanted to try more from Asian beauty brands but I wasn’t sure where to start! I really only tried a lot from Laneige and that’s it. This set definitely gets my foot in the door!

  4. I’ve tried quite a few of these (no surprise haha). The Tatcha rice powder is AMAZING, the best cleansing powder out there if you ask me
The TCFS egg mask is good but it leaves behind a thin film on the skin that will interfere with makeup application, just a little heads up 🙂

    1. Good to hear about the cleansing powder! It’s a unique concept and I think I’ll like this one!

I don’t mind if it leaves anything behind on the skin because I’m a mask at night kinda girl but that is excellent information to leave for those who like to do them in the morning!! Thank you!

  5. Lots (actually, all??) of Korean and Japanese brands in here, so that’s really cool! Shiseido has been a skincare staple of mine for over a decade and they have really great products – I’ve never used that eye cream but I hope it works well for you!

I’ve also been wanting to try that egg cream mask…it sounds intriguing. And I’m glad you hear you like the two Laneige products. Those are the two I’ve been meaning to try, and it’s good to hear that you enjoy them!

    1. Yep it’s all Korean and Japanese products! Shiseido is a company I want to try more from. I tried the Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate and really liked it.

The egg mask was so different than any mask sheet mask I’ve used before. It had a thicker sheet and thicker serum. It felt super nice on the skin!

  6. This set looks amazing!!
I have so many too cool for school products in my love list but I’ve never actually tried one, I have heard good things about this mask though. I hope it works for you!
I saw that Dr. Jart Tiger grass product as a rewards sample this week and was so confused what it was for, so thanks for clarifying!
And I totally agree that more sephora sets should include eye creams, I’m almost completely out but can never justify the price full size.

    1. I ended up liking the mask! It was kind of weird because the serum was really thick and gooey lol but it left my skin really nice looking!
I’m kind of over getting moisturizer all the time in my sets. I have so many to get through but not enough eye creams or serums lol
