Another month has gone by and April is here already! Here in Ontario, I can really feel Spring is upon us. Most of the time, Winter overstays it’s welcome well into Spring so this is a nice change! I just want the nice weather to be here so I can break out the sandals and rompers!
I have a ton of empties for March! I’m sheepishly proud of myself! I can’t tell you how many products I have wasted in the past because I haven’t stuck to using them up. These empties posts are not only fun to write but help me stay on top of things!
The Face Shop Sheet Masks
A couple of months ago, I bought 30 sheet masks from The Face Shop when they had their usual buy 10, get 5 free sale. They used to be only $2 CAD a mask but now they are $3. The ones I used up this month are Pomegranate, Avocado, Goji Berry, and Lingzhi. Their masks always leave my skin hydrated, smooth and brightened.
North American Hemp Co. Linoleic Line Lifting Face Cream
I got this from The Kit x Topbox a long time ago. I think I thought it would smell like hemp and I wouldn’t like it. 😄 But it turns out, I looooove this face cream. It’s so moisturizing and my skin appears firmer (and it does not smell like hemp). For such a rich cream, it does not leave my oily skin looking greasy. The full size is only $26.49 on Well.ca so when I run out of face creams, I will be buying it!
Juice Beauty Green Apple Age Defy Moisturizer
This was only okay for me. My skin still felt tight after using it which was surprising to me because it’s a richer formula. It didn’t leave me looking greasy and my skin did appear firmer after using, but I wouldn’t purchase this again.
Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation
This is a very light formula. I wouldn’t buy this again unless it came in a value set (like this one did!). The problem with my skin is that I’m very oily but my skin always feels tight as well so a light cream doesn’t help me much. I need more hydration then it can offer! I always end up layering this underneath another cream. If you don’t need a rich face cream, I think you’d really like this.
Skiin Soothing & Smoothing Eye Cream
Someone I bought a product from included this as an extra in my package. I used it up but I really didn’t enjoy it. The smell was overpowering and I didn’t see anything happening to my undereye area to ever make me want to buy this.
Pur-Lisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Eye Adore Serum
So this has been in a lot of my past empties posts! I had quite a few of these little guys but this is my last one! Luckily, I have 3 full sizes to tide me over. It’s honestly my favourite eye serum. It hydrates, brightens, firms, and works so well under makeup. It is so expensive, though, so I’m not sure what I am going to do when my full sizes are done (I got them cheap through a FB group).
Pur-Lisse Pur-Delicate Gentle Soy Milk Cleanser
In general, I love this brand. But for me, this cleanser is a no-go. I really need my face washes to lather and this one does not. I feel like I have to work extra hard and use a ton of product for my face to feel clean. I don’t have anything negative to say about it other than that – it just comes down to a personal preference thing!
O.R.G Skincare Mineral Peel Face
Does the name of this stuff bug anyone else? I feel like it must have been badly translated from a different language maybe? A peel face?! Really? Shouldn’t it be Face Peel…? But anyway… I really like this stuff! When my skin is dried out and peeling from acne products, I like to use this to help rid the dead skin. It works great! I have a full size already thanks to my Winter FabFitFun!
Tarte Maracuja Oil
I love this oil! I’m actually really mad at myself because I redeemed Ipsy points for a new bottle of this, and then I cancelled my bag accidentally (long story short, I heard we could skip months now, but apparently not on my account lol). So when I cancelled, my redeemed points item got cancelled as well. It’s so hydrating and mixes great with moisturizer.
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
I tend to prolong the use of my beauty sponges so the wear and tear on this one is pretty visible. To me, this sponge is just as good as the real Beauty Blender. I used the Beauty Blender first, and then switched to this one right after and honestly, there was no difference in performance. This one is way cheaper – a 2 pack was $14.99 on Amazon when I purchased mine. The only difference I can see is that my Beauty Blender held up better over time (I had one for over a year that didn’t look half as used as this RT one).
Lush Tea Tree Water
For the longest time, this was the only product I had tried from Lush. I’ve been buying it for the last 6 or 7 years. The full size always lasts me forever. I like this toner because it has tea tree in it so it’s good for acne but it doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight. That’s actually the entire reason I bought it in the first place because a lot of people recommended it for that reason. Another plus is that it doesn’t actually smell strongly of tea tree!
Lush Comforter Shower Cream
I got this free sample when I purchased a Lush lip scrub. Of all the times I’ve been to Lush, that was the only time I’ve been offered a sample! Is that something they normally do or are we supposed to ask? I have no clue. But anyway, I really loved this shower cream. I didn’t find it to be a cream as the name suggested – not gel but definitely more liquid-y than a cream. It was fuchsia in colour and smelled like berries! It also left my skin very soft. I would buy this!
Bioderma Sensibio H2O Make-up Removing Micelle Solution
I like this micellar water a lot more than the Garnier one. It effortlessly removes makeup and it doesn’t leave a film on my skin after using it. It’s pretty expensive to buy so I think I want to try the Simple micellar water to see how I like that one before buying the Bioderma again.
Redken HeatCure At-Home Self-Heating Mask
This is from my most recent LookFantastic box! I was so curious about it that I had to use it right away. You are instructed to remove the back panel of the package to start the self heating and wait 3-4 minutes before using the product. I ended up leaving it more around 5 minutes and I didn’t find it hot. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be hot or just warm, but it was definitely only lukewarm for me. However, it was soooo nice to use. My hair was so soft and silky after using this! I might actually buy more of these someday when I run out of deep conditioners.
Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo
I like this a lot! It only lasted me about 5 uses, though. I always use my dry shampoo at night. This one responds super well to that and my hair looks so clean and fresh in the morning. The only thing I don’t like about it is the smell. It doesn’t even smell bad. I just find it more on the perfume-y side.
Batiste Dry Shampoo
Ah, my favourite dry shampoo! This is in the scent “Coconut & Exotic Tropical” and it’s hard for me to buy anything else now. I just love the tropical smell so much. As everyone knows, this product works well and is so affordable. I’ll always have one of these on hand!
Swisspers Organic Cotton Rounds
I hate when I buy cotton pads and they are coming apart in my eye when I’m taking off mascara. I’m happy to say that these ones do not do that! I got these from Walmart and I’d buy them again!
MaskerAide Spotted! Anti-Blemish Clear Spot Patches
You will probably see these in my empties a lot. Every time I have breakouts, I use these. They are truly awesome! Because they contain tea tree oil and salicylic acid, they are very drying so I have to be careful not to overuse them on the same spot. I just bought 2 packs of 96 patches from the MaskerAide website using the code TOPBOXSPOTTED to get 15% off.
Simple Micellar Make-Up Remover Wipes
These are the best make-up removing wipes I have tried! They are so gentle on my skin yet they don’t leave any make-up behind! I like that they are nice and wet. I don’t like makeup removing wipes that are on the dryer side. I will keep buying these!
Nexcare Acne Absorbing Covers
These are excellent to draw all the dirt, oil, and puss from your pimples. They are non-drying, which is amazing. This is another item you will see in my empties a lot because I love them.
Cottonelle Fresh Care Flushable Cleansing Cloths
I’m including these in my empties since I got them from my Fall FabFitFun! I loved having wipes for during my period. It makes you feel so much fresher. I think it’s probably more cost effective to buy baby wipes, though.
Secret Outlast Xtend Clear Gel Antiperspirant
I also got this in my Fall FabFitFun. I just wanted to update and say I’m not a fan of it. I just don’t like clear gels! I hate waiting for them to dry, and I always feel like I need more of it throughout the day.
John Frieda Sheer Blonde Colour Renew Tone-Correcting Shampoo
This is a must for fake blondes! I’ve had this forever because I only use it once or twice a month. It takes away any yellow-ness that is developing in coloured blond hair. I’ll be buying this again or I might even try a different brand to see what’s out there!
John Frieda Sheer Blonde Hi-Impact Restoring Shampoo
I actually did a full review on this product plus the conditioner and oil elixir many moons ago here. In a nutshell, I liked this shampoo because my hair looked and felt super healthy after using but I didn’t notice any difference in vibrancy like it claims.
Calgon Ultra Moisturizing Body Wash
This is just your average grocery store body wash. As you can see, it was on clearance so I grabbed it. It’s in the scent “Spring Cherry Blossom” which I loved. But I didn’t find it to be “ultra moisturizing” or anything.
Bath & Body Works 3-Wick Candles
I forgot to include these in my main photograph at the top. This month I finished up Peppermint Marshmallow, which was a birthday gift. I wouldn’t have thought to purchase this scent but it was actually really nice! Peppermint and marshmallow is a good mix because the mint smell isn’t overpowering. The Hot Cocoa & Cream was love at first smell! It smells exactly like hot chocolate to me! I wish I bought another one but I guess I’ll have to wait until next winter!
Annnnd done! That’s it for March empties! I already have a couple products almost done for this month, which always excites me because it means I can try something new very soon!
I also quickly want to say thank you to everyone who has subscribed to my blog. I have hit 300 followers!! I never imagined to even have 20 followers, let alone 300! 😄 I love interacting with this beauty blogging community. Everyone is so nice and supportive! Thanks for the love guys! ❤
